Job Description Residential Support Worker reed uk 2024

Residential Support Worker reed uk 2024 Working in our client’s Children’s Homes means becoming an integral part of a young person’s daily life, sharing in their highs and lows. Support workers play a pivotal role in helping them regain their childhood and shape their journey toward well-rounded adulthood. It’s a deeply rewarding role, despite the inevitable challenges. The most fulfilling moments often come as small victories with significant impact.

These homes provide a nurturing environment for young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The aim is to ensure the best possible outcomes for these young individuals. Current support workers derive immense satisfaction from even the smallest positive changes in their lives, celebrating these modest achievements wholeheartedly.

What does a typical day look like?

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day well-being of our young people, ensuring their daily routines run seamlessly while crafting enduring memories. Your tasks encompass getting them ready for school, providing homework support, handling paperwork, and organising engaging activities. Evenings and weekends are dedicated to fun, whether it’s Xbox gaming, football matches, movie days, or exciting go-karting adventures – certainly a unique way to spend your workdays!

Working here is anything but mundane; it’s purposeful. It involves understanding each young person’s unique needs, personality, and potential, and guiding them toward a brighter and more positive future.

The ideal candidate

A ‘can do’ attitude – a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others
We genuinely care about our young people (and each other) so honesty and empathy is a must!
The resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations
A full UK driving licence which you’ve held for at least 12 months
If you don’t have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), our client will pay for you to study and support you every step of the way
How we can help you

Don’t fret if you need some support with your application. When applying with Randstad we can offer you the best support to get you hired. We’ve got a great relationship with the client which you can use to your advantage, perhaps help you write your CV if you need help, and we’ll make sure you feel ready and prepared for your interview too.
