Manufacturing Engineer reed uk 2024 A Redditch based, Industry leading Manufacturer are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. At this state-of-the-art facility, the business design, manufacture, and assemble precision forged and machined components for a variety of industries.

An ideal candidate will have sound production or manufacturing engineering experience gained from within a cellular manufacturing environment.

 

Key responsibilities for the successful Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Support New Product Introduction by developing production routes to deliver First Article Inspection samples and a production-ready process in line with program requirements
  • Adopt new technology / processing routes to improve existing products
  • Work with Quality Engineers to agree measurement criteria
  • Work with Operations to ensure production route is viable
  • Liaise with both internal and external customers including certification bodies or agencies
  • Participate in product process improvement activities to improve productivity and profitability
  • Participate in structured problem-solving activities

 

Key Technical/Professional Competencies:

  • HNC / Degree educated within a relevant discipline or time served Engineering apprenticeship
  • Strong knowledge of Machining
  • Excellent technical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to utilise CAD / CAM systems
  • Previous experience of simulation software
  • Specific metal forging knowledge would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of machining processes
  • Ability to work within and understand relevant quality systems and specifications
