He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role:
We have a part-time permanent role available for a passionate support worker to join our team and provide dedicated support to our Rangatahi. You will be walking alongside Rangatahi as they learn to live independently, learn new skills, connect with their community, and set and achieve goals. Within the role, you will work closely with the clinical team to ensure Rangatahi are kept safe and are well supported. We welcome applicants who have a passion to see others succeed while you also work on your own development.
This is a permanent part-time position working 20 hours per week, rostered shifts. The role will be based in Hastings.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Establish a rapport with Rangatahi and their whanau.
Provide day to day support in alignment with their goals and support plans including risk management plans and Safety Plans.
Work with Rangatahi to identify significant goals. Provide encouragement and support them to achieve their goals.
Attend and contribute to team meetings, bringing ideas and updating others on their activities.
Ensure all incidents are documented appropriately.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You’ll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community in line with the reintegration plan. You’ll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow. You’ll have the ability to easily build professional relationships with our Rangatahi, while maintaining strong professional boundaries.
Ideally you will have the following:
Experience working in a similar role.
A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or be working towards one.
Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
Should be eligible to work in New Zealand.
It’s essential that you have a Full New Zealand driving licence.
Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice.
