Finance Manager seek au 2024 Westmead Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit charity organisation that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of the community by providing funding and support to Westmead Hospital and its associated health services. With a focus on research, education, and patient care, the Foundation plays a vital role in enhancing the delivery of health services to the community.
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and hands on Finance Manager to manage the finance function of the Foundation. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of financial
operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, banking, ATO compliance, preparation of monthly financial Board reports and liaising with our external audit service
provider. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong financial background to contribute to the success of our organisation. We are a small team and offer a flexible work environment.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations of the Foundation, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, banking and ATO compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, invoices, and payments
- Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operations
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Board, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making
- Collaborate with auditors and assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, vendors, and regulatory bodies
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and industry best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualification preferred or working towards)
- Proven work experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and banking operations
- Proficiency in using accounting software (knowledge of Xero is a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements for not-for-profit organizations
